Warning: as they do with many things, Amazon lumps all reviews of this battery together, irrespective of who the seller is. Some sellers sell brand new batteries, some sell used or refurbished or non-Apple batteries. This you can see from some of the other reviews. Read the description carefully, to see what the seller that YOU are dealing with is offering. I got mine from "Nextop2100". They sold an authentic Apple OEM battery (new), but in bulk packaging. The battery I received was brand new, made by Apple, exactly what I wanted.
If you're not sure what you're ordering, email the seller and ask!
Oh, and in case you haven't figured this out yet: most non-book items sold on Amazon.com are NOT sold by Amazon; they are sold by third parties. It's like buying on eBay, but somewhat more reliable (if you don't get what was described, Amazon will help you out). Near the top of the page it will say "Ships from and sold by (name of vendor)".

I did not place this order... when I received a 'confirmation' email for the purchase I immediately emailed the seller & Amazon to cancel.
They responded "too late".
I sent the complaint to MasterCard for a chargeback.
I want my credit card & personal information deleted from Amazon's record immediately.

I read many things here, before I buy the battery, but I can say that battery it's the same that the original.

PRO: This battery looks and fits on my Macbook just like the original. I have tested it on my Macbook and works just fine.
CONS: Product description was confusing. While the label here at Amazon states that it's for Macbook models (MA561LL/A, which is the same as the ones sold at the Apple website), the battery shipped to me had "13" Macbook Pro" sticker on it. The battery model was A1185, which was exactly the same as the original battery on my Macbook. This made me wonder if this battery is just the same as the battery advertised by the same source for $89.50, but with a product description for 13" Macbook Pro laptops, and better mAh (5600 mAh on the other advertised battery while this one only has 5020 mAh).
Also, while this battery is claimed to be brand new, I loaded the battery right away and it indicated 5 cycles already.
Other than that, I have no other complaints, only I had wished to have gotten the other battery for a cheaper price!

Identical to the factory Macbook battery it replaced. This machine has had very heavy use since it's purchase in 2006, and the original battery had deteriorated to the point of lasting 30 minutes or so. It is operating like new with this replacement. Fit and finish were identical to the original.
