| Customer Reviews:
Perfect for its Purpose December 28, 2008 I think that this is a great product, provided that you are using it for its intended purpose. The Otterbox is great for shielding your elegant, vulnerable ipod Touch from harsh environments filled with water, dust, sand, grit, hard impacts, g-shocks, and falls. For those very reasons, 1) the product does not have a charging/syncing port, because it would just get ruined in the type of situations that this product is designed to withstand, and 2) it is beefy, upping the slim and light Touch's breast-pocket size to something akin to the old tape-playing Walkmen of yesteryear. I have found that it works well with my 2G Touch, though the protective film over the screen impedes contact with the touch screen enough that I find it best suited for simply playing music. As another reviewer accurately reported, the belt clip is a tad flimsy; an unfortunate design flaw.
In conclusion, if you're taking your ipod Touch into environments where it's likely to get beat up (boating, the beach, camping, a battlefield (like the guy from Iraq)), then this product is good for keeping your ipod alive and well. If you just want a protective sleeve that you can stick in your home dock, try something else.
No support to Soldiers November 2, 2008 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
I gave this item the lowest review possible because I have not received it yet. If I could give a lower rating I would.
I am stationed in Iraq and some businesses like this one will not support deployed Soldiers and refuse to ship items to an APO Address. Even though an APO address is just a matter of turning the item over to the Military / USPO and letting them ship the item from there.
I had to have it shipped to a family member. Which I paid for. Then my family member has to mail it to me which I get to pay for again. One month after ordering the item I am still waiting for it to arrive from its second mailing.
Half of the business I deal with can ship to APO so it is not impossible.
Thanks for nothing.
Good product October 9, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is about as close to bulletproof as you are going to get with the touch.
The membrane over the touch screen gives good responsive access to the screen.
It is a pretty quick process to get the touch in an out of the case.
Downsides are the size and weight and the lack of ability to sync and charge from within the case.
It would be nice if Otterbox could design a case with an adapter that would allow one to sync and charge from within. I am guessing this might add quite a bit to the price, though.
not that bad.. May 31, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
overall this product works great. no leaks in the water, you can control the ipod even under water. the only problem I have had with it is the plastic clip that comes with it is a little weak.
sturdy case but missing something important March 25, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
case is pretty heavy duty and sturdy. However, if you need to charge the unit, you need to disassemble the case first, before you can charge it, which is a bummer
