 it's not the printer it's Canon January 2, 2008

Well I have just opened a brand new Canon PIXMA MP610 printer and it doesn't work I called Canon support and they could only offer me a refurbished printer. Which is completely unacceptible. They did not know if there was a service center in Hawaii so they could not direct me to anyone local. Lucky for me I can still return it to Amazon, but since I wanted to use this printer for some graphics priniting, I will be out $100 extra in printer cost at a pro center. Point in case, BUYER BEWARE Canon is of no help...this comes from a long terms fan and customer (I have 7 cameras and lenses from XT, XTI SLRs to G9 (with underwater housing) to several is the SD series and I have 2 other printers every time I've had problems I have taken care of it myself)...next time I will look at alternatives. It simply is not good enough to offer a used replacement for a new product. The printer it self I know nothing about.

I love the printer. The installation instructions were easy to follow and the set up was quick and easy. The photo print quality is excellent. The images are clear and colors very vibrant. The printer is a litter larger in size than I expected.

This printer is my fourth Canon, but my first all-in-one. Canon builds good printers that work, and this one fits that description, but it is not a step forward over the i860 it replaced. In fact, the print quality of the i860 is quite a bit better.
I do think that complaints about its size are a bit unfair. It is larger in size than some other printers that do the same things, but it fits fine on my printer stand. Set-up was easy, and I had it up and running within 30 minutes after getting it unpacked, a daunting task in itself.
Overall, I'd say text printing is very good, copys are good, but scans are only fair, and photos are somewhere in between. The card reader works just like a card reader.
If you can buy this printer for around $150, I think you'll be happy with it, but you might want to find somewhere that you can actually see it in action before buying it. It does all the things it's advertised to do, it's just that there really isn't a wow factor to any of them. Perhaps that's fine for everyday home office use, but if your more of a photo or graphics hobbiest, you probably should look at other models, including those in Canon's own lineup.

Received a broken printer but Amazon is sending replacement. We were able to print a picture before it up and died on us- won't even turn on after trying the scan feature!! The photo print out was amazing and the speed of regular printing is incredibly fast. Looking forward to receiving new printer!Giving 5 stars due to incredibly print quality and general 'look' of it.

I've bought many items from Amazon and have never rated them--whether good or bad. But, I'm making an exception for this printer.
This printer was an X-mas gift from me to me and I have absolutely no complaints about this printer and all--and I'm a picky individual mind you.
It's easy to install, document quality is excellent and the pictures are amazing. I recently got married and with the exception of about 2 'special' prints that I had done at the local Kodak store--I have printed all of my wedding pictures on this printer. From 8 x 10's to wallets--you name it, I've printed them & every single picture looks gorgeous. I highly recommend it...
